The Resurrection of Christ, by Alonso López de Herrera
“Reconquest” is a militant, engaging, and informative Catholic radio program featuring interviews with interesting guests as well as commentary by your host. It is a radio-journalistic extension of the Crusade of Saint Benedict Center.
Each weekly, one-hour episode of Reconquest will debut RIGHT HERE on Wednesday night at 8:00 PM Eastern (7:00 PM Central). It will then be rebroadcast according to the Crusade Channel programming schedule (note: all times listed are Central time).
I just started listening to the The Psychological and Spiritual Effects of Being Negative . I stopped when he said something like ‘when your emotions get the best of you that is when you start not thinking clearly and you end up with some things like sedevacantism…’ I do not declare or label myself a sedevacantist and try to seek out, through positive thought and action, true traditional Catholicism. It is my understanding that true doctrine is the core issue. The various isms and labels and issues revolve around that core issue — true doctrine of Christ’s Church.
Another thing that sounded wrong to me is what he said about striving to make others perfect will never work because you yourself will never be perfect. I thought Jesus said “Be ye perfect as your Father in Heaven is perfect.”Jesus would not tell us to be negative in our thoughts by living a life that does not work by striving to be perfect. I know that Father Rippenger gives important insights about how the material thought processes and the spiritual thought processes work. However, Jesus taught that we can sin by thought. I just do not think sin thought directly corresponds with what Father Rippenger tells us is “negative” thought. P.S. FYI Will set my alarm to try to tune in Wednesday to the first broadcast of your next show, but it looks as though the network is no longer allowing replays of your show to play for free if I tune in at the correct time. However, maybe it will be free listening for the Wednesday, first play, of your show, but I doubt it. It looks like no more free broadcasts. One must pay subscription fee that automatically renews on credit card. It is unknown if paying that will give access to archived shows. Yours is the only show on that network that I care to listen to. “and the light shines on in the darkness and darkness could not overcome it.”John 1:5

Sedevacantism is a doctrinal problem, but it is one that many get to because they are obsessed with the scandals in the Church, scandals to which they pay (proportionally) too much attention. If you don’t think sedevacantists by and large have this problem of letting emotions override reason, perhaps you have not spoken to many of them.
Regarding perfection: absolute perfection is impossible to humans. Relative perfection is possible. Father Ripperger’s comments about it are not at all off base. Saints Francis de Sales, Thérèse of Lisieux, Teresa of Avila, et al., would have no problem with them.
I’ve been in the traditional movement for about a quarter of a century, and I can attest to the need for traditionalists to be imbued with the principles Father Ripperger imparts here.
